March is shaping up to be another exciting month for TV lovers and sports fans alike. As the winter chill begins to fade (hopefully), streaming platforms and networks are heating things up with a stellar lineup of new premieres and returning favourites. Whether you’re into gripping thrillers, heartfelt dramas, or laugh-out-loud comedies, there’s no shortage of entertainment to keep you glued to your screen.

For basketball fans like me, March is also all about the brackets and March Madness. The NCAA tournament takes center stage in March, bringing all the drama, buzzer-beaters, and underdog stories that make it one my favourite sporting events of the year. My kids are already asking when it starts. So make sure those printers have ink for all the brackets ready to be printed. Between catching games and filling out your brackets, there’s plenty of time to dive into some fantastic TV shows. I feel like we are all the way back after COVID and the writer’s strike. Here’s a look at the most anticipated shows premiering in March 2025.
(for those wondering when March Madness tips off, I have listed key dates at the bottom of this post.)
Thrilling Premieres
Daredevil: Born Again (March 4, Disney+): Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, navigating his dual life as a lawyer and vigilante in this highly anticipated Marvel series. I am actually looking forward to this one. Mostly because I saw The Punisher in the trailer.
Beauty in Black (March 6, Netflix): Tyler Perry’s new drama explores the intersecting lives of two women from vastly different backgrounds.
Deli Boys (March 6, Hulu): A comedy-drama about two Pakistani American brothers uncovering their father’s secret criminal empire.
Dark Winds Season 3 (March 9, AMC): A psychological western thriller following detectives unraveling a case involving missing boys and smuggling. I lost a little momentum on this show, but I may go back and watch Season 2.
Dramatic Returns
Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Part 2 (March 6, ABC): The long-running medical drama continues its exploration of life and love in Seattle. Season 21?? It feels like a lifetime ago when I actually used to watch this show.
The Righteous Gemstones Season 4 (March 9, HBO): The televangelist family faces new challenges in the final season of this dark comedy. Yes. Yes. Yes. On one hand, I am super excited it’s back. On the other hand, I am sad to know it’s the last season for the Gemstones. But I would guess this means they go all out for one last crazy adventure.
The Wheel of Time Season 3 (March 13, Prime Video): The fantasy epic continues as Rand al’Thor embraces his destiny as the Dragon Reborn. I will give it another try. It wasn’t as boring as the other Prime Fantasy project – The Lord of the Rings. Early reviews says it’s intense.
Unique Offerings
Dope Thief (March 14, Apple TV+): A comedic crime tale starring Brian Tyree Henry about two friends caught in a drug operation.
The Residence (March 20, Netflix): A murder mystery set in the White House, starring Uzo Aduba.
The Studio (March 26, Apple TV+): Seth Rogen leads this comedy about the chaos behind making movies. Very much looking forward to this one.
Reality and Awards Highlights
The Academy Awards (March 2, ABC): Hollywood’s biggest night returns with Conan O’Brien hosting the Oscars. While I have not seen many of the movies that have been nominated, I will be tuning in to see Conan.
American Idol Season 23 (March 9, ABC): The iconic singing competition kicks off another season.
Spring Baking Championship Season 11 (March 10, Food Network): Bakers compete in spring-themed challenges.
Top Chef Toronto (March 13, Food Network Canada): This spin-off of the Top Chef franchise brings the heat to Toronto’s vibrant culinary scene. Talented chefs from across the city will compete in intense challenges inspired by Toronto’s multicultural flavours. Of course we will be watching this one. Will they make it to Parkdale??
Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney (March 15, Netflix): John Mulaney brings his signature wit and charm to late-night television in this new variety show featuring stand-up comedy, sketches, and celebrity interviews. Expect plenty of laughs and surprises from one of comedy’s brightest stars.
