Former Iron Chef Winner Likes My Cooking

The timing could not have been better. It was just the other day that we watched the finale of season 9 of Food Network Star, which ended up being won by Damaris Phillips.

One of the other contestants, who was an early favourite to win, was Viet Pham.

His claim to fame besides his restaurant in Utah (Forage), is that he beat Bobby Fley on Iron Chef America. That is a huge accomplishment to put on the resume.

So, the guy knows food.

I thought his chances of winning were high, but as it turns out, the hosting side of things was not his thing.

Anyways, last night I noticed on Twitter that Viet Pham favorited one of my food photos from Instagram.

As someone who watches a lot of food shows and takes a lot of pictures of what I cook, this really made my day.

I have no idea how he came across it on Twitter (maybe a hashtag) but regardless, the photos of bacon, garlic and potatoes, influenced him to click that little star.

I guess it does not take much to excite this Dad living in Nova Scotia. I agree, Viet is not a major celebrity, but I just watched him on TV on a show that I enjoy.

He seems like a genuine, interesting guy that just loves food.

Now if only I can get the same kind of reaction from Bobby Flay one day from all my Big Green Egg photos.
