Video: What Is Your LifeProof Story?

I have had a Samsung Galaxy IIIS for about six months and I have yet to get a protective case for it. I know, I know, I am just asking for trouble. But so far so good.

But now that I have seen this case from LifeProof, I am starting to think it is time to get one.

First, what is your LifeProof Story?

We all want to protect our iPhone or Galaxy from water, drops, sweat, dirt and other hazards of daily living. That is a given. Who wants to lose their little buddy due to outside elements

The trick is finding a case with the full touch experience that does not feel like a plastic cover?

How We Survived Flying With Two Kids

This is not a blog to tell parents how to do stuff.

This is simply a place to share our parenting experiences, advice and how we somehow did something right.

There are so many theories and suggestions when it comes to flying with young children, that you just have to try it out for yourself.

Have a plan, hope you can stick to it and remember that your kids are really the ones in control of the situation.

We recently flew from Halifax to Ottawa with our two sons. One is three and the other just turned 9-months old. So that is a handful for anyone.

My wife has flown with the boys before all by herself to Toronto, so I let her project manage the adventure as she had real-life experience.

Now, granted, the flight was a short one. Only a few hours. So take that into consideration as we list off how we managed to survive the trip (both ways) without any meltdowns, ordeals or stand offs.

Do You Have High Expectations For Your Kids In Sports?

An article I wrote that was originally posted on the Dads Round Table.

With the first pick in the 2027 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors select Harrison Cusden out of the University of Michigan…..

A dad can dream can’t he? All of my favourite things culminating in one glorious moment that will shape the life of my son and our family.

No pressure right? No expectations at all. Just go from a kid in the driveway to the biggest stage in basketball. Now that a Canadian has become the top pick in what is still a very American sport, as witnessed by Anthony Bennett and most likely Andrew Wiggins next year, there are no limits. So, let’s keep the party going for many years to come. In particular, 2027 and 2030.

Pretty high expectations right?

Video: Special Unit’s Unit With Adam Devine

I have always been a big fan of the team at Funny Or Die and the following video does not change that.

Once again they bring the funny for a spot for Phillips Norelco “Click  and Style” campaign.

This one features Adam DeVine from Workaholics for those who are paying attention.

The video is promoting more features coming this fall on the Broxygen Network.

In the video, the Special Unit’s Unit patrols the streets to make sure guys are keeping their body hair under control. Be warned, a guy gets his crotch stuck on a fence.

The video is also an introduction to the Philips Norelco Click & Style razor, an electric razor designed to manscape a man’s entire body. More and more it is becoming trendy for guys to shave more than their face. That is what this ad is all about. Guys you need to manscape according to the Special Unit’s Unit.

The Best Of Like A Dad

day45-1

While we are away enjoying the sun, sand and cottage life this week, I wanted to take a look back at some of the more popular posts on Like A Dad. Based on the numbers, people love their Big Green Egg.

Fresh content coming next week. The mind will be charged and ready to roll.

What the Rising Number of Single Dads Says About Fatherhood in General

While on vacation, I wanted to share other writings that are about dads. This article I found interesting as you tend to think of single parents as just the moms.

Is it a good or bad sign that the number is single dads is exploding? Would love to hear what you have to say.

 From The Atlantic

But single dads haven’t just increased in absolute numbers. They’ve also increased as a percentage of all single parents. Back in 1960, single dads made up only 14 percent of single-parent headed households. Today that number has climbed to 24 percent–almost a quarter. Men’s rights advocates would have you believe that feminism has systematically prevented men from gaining custody of children. Yet, according to this data at least, it seems like the (limited, but real) feminist gains of the last 50 years have actually coincided with greater parity. It’s hard to say whether this is correlation or causation, but either way, it looks like folks who want more men getting custody should be rooting for more feminism, not less.

Kids, Cottage And The Summer Vacation

DSC01043

Well we survived the hot weekend in Halifax. Whoa, that was steamy. That is the first time since I moved from Toronto where I could feel the air around me. We are all glad it is over.

It is great to see our baby sleeping again without a glaze all over his body.

It is cool and raining right now which is perfect. A day to cool off and a day to pack for the cottage.

We are leaving tomorrow for just under a week to have a giant family get together in Thousand Islands Park in New York State.

We went last year for a similar trip but that was with just one kid.

Now with the baby, it will be a whole other ball game.
