Spring is near, let’s all keep laughing

We are at the point of winter where it just starts to drag. While I admit Toronto has had a pretty decent winter so far, I still am counting down the days until spring. Today it’s supposed to be sunny and a high of 8 C. Perfect day for a long walk somewhere.

The sun is a sure bet to get people through winter. Another is just having a good laugh as much as possible. Laughter cures all.

Today on X I saw this post from Ricky Gervais and to me it’s so true.

He is referencing the sad news that Ewen MacIntosh sadly passed away at the age of 50. He wasn’t a big name, but he was a classic character if you are a fan of the UK version of The Office.

He played Keith the accountant, and for all the fans of the US Office, that’s Kevin Malone. Ewen had some of the more funny scenes on The Office and helped propel the show’s style forward. So much so that the US version had several seasons and there are rumours of more spinoffs.

So back to the laugher part. I watched some of the old Office clips this morning and it left me feeling in a great mood to start the day. Laughter really brings you out of whatever mood you might be in.

So what else has me laughing these days?

Well, first and foremost, every day my family keeps me laughing. Whether they are laughing at my bad jokes, or doing something funny themselves, I am happy we keep things funny at home for the most part. I like seeing the boys develop their own sense of humour and learn how to use it at appropriate times.

I have a daily instant message chat with my friend from middle school that keeps me laughing more than it really should. If you catch me smiling at my phone it’s probably due to some stupid comment made by my friend.

Last night we watched Dinner Time Live on Netflix. That had us laughing quite a bit. Seth Rogen and Ike Barinholtz were the guests and it was non stop jokes.

As I mentioned yesterday, I am even backtracking to watching some of my fave episodes of Seinfeld. They provide a lot of laughter, nostalgia and comfort.

I have also been noticing a lot of solid dad jokes on IG the last few days. It’s amazing how there are still new jokes.

What has you laughing out loud these days? I would love to hear about it in the comments.

It could be from TV, sports, your home life, a meme on Instagram, anything.

What was the point of this post today? I guess it was to give a shout out to Keith the accountant and to remind us all that laughter can truly be the best medicine sometimes.

Time to get the day going. I will report back tomorrow on any funny moments from the day ahead.

Today marks only one month until it is officially spring. We can do this.
