My Son’s First Toronto Blue Jays Game

Well, that’s another experience checked off my dad bucket list.
On July 23rd, I took Harrison to his first Major League Baseball game and it was at the Rogers Centre to see the Toronto Blue Jays.
Seemed fitting since Harrison has been wearing a Blue Jays hat almost every day since he was two.
Ever since we moved back to Toronto in May, a baseball game was on the list of things we would do over the summer. Then it worked out that the Boston Red Sox would be in town. That meant a lively crowd and a fun atmosphere to watch a game.
As a sport to sit and watch, baseball might not be as exciting for a four-year old to watch. We have been to hockey and basketball games before and the action is always moving. Baseball has its own pace that can be a little slow at times.
But this was Harrison’s first professional sporting event, so that was much more to see and experience than what was happening on the field.
There was the size of the stadium, the big screen, the ballpark food and just watching all of the other fans.
I am not sure who was more excited to go to be honest.

When Your Son Decides To Cheer For The Wrong Team
This past weekend, I took Harrison to see another hockey game.
It was part of my Christmas presents. Two tickets to see the Halifax Mooseheads take on the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
Rivalry game!
This was also going to be the first time I took Harrison to a night game.
The problem was, once we got to our seats and started watching, Harrison decided it was not the Mooseheads that he wanted to cheer for.
Yep, my son decided to cheer for the wrong team.
Harrison`s First Live Basketball Game
One of Harrison`s Christmas presents was tickets to go and see a Halifax Rainmen game. We have been to see the Halifax Mooseheads a few times, but never to a Rainmen game.
Harrison loves basketball and watches it on TV whenever I am watching it. He is even starting to get the rules of the game. For some reason, he loves it when the ball gets stolen. Anyways.
Sunday was being referred to as “no nap day“ because the game was at 2pm, which is usually when the boys nap.
I was looking forward to the game as well because live basketball (no matter the level) is always a treat. I have been a hoops fan for most of my life, so I would never say no to going to a game.
The exciting part was our seats were on the floor right behind the basket.
So we bundled up and headed down to the Metro Centre where the Rainmen play.
Tennis’s Top 5 Worst Dads

When I first clicked on the link from The Herald Sun, I was sure the dad of Venus and Serena Williams would be the worst. But I was so wrong. He is just a loud-mouthed jerk.
These five tennis dads are actually bad people who were involved in illegal actions and took advantage of their talented tennis kids.

You Need An All-Star Point Guard To Win – In This Case, Mom
The last week or so a lot has been happening in our house. The two biggest of course are first, my taking over the day time parenting duties for our 6-month old son and second, March Madness.
For me, college basketball’s wild tournament is like Christmas. So much good basketball to watch. This year has been extra special as my beloved Michigan Wolverines are back. They made it to the Final Four with a crushing 20-point win over Florida on Saturday. I did not even have to break a sweat watching that one.
So, I figured I would tie the two hot topics together for this post.
To win the big game, you need an All-Star point guard and in this case, a wife/mom who is the floor general for the household.
Tomorrow my wife heads back to work after six months away taking care of our little guy. I will be assuming all that comes with that role starting tomorrow for the next six months. Crazy eh?
