Teaching Beaver – Like A Dad

Ward Cleaver

One of the things we are going to do a lot of on this blog is feature really cool dads whether they are from TV, movies or in real life. What better way to start than to feature Ward Cleaver.

From Wikipedia

Ward Cleaver is a fictional character in the American television sitcom Leave It to Beaver. Ward and his wife, June, are often invoked as archetypal suburban parents of the babyboomer 1950s.

Ward was about as chilled out a dad as there ever was. Now he was doing it like a dad in the 1950’s so all the angry Ward stuff would happen in the garage or behind closed doors. No public displays of losing his cool for this dad.

You just know he wanted to ring the neck of Eddie Haskel a few times. I can only remember a few times even seeing his perfect hair out of place. Yes, this is where I tihnk Pat Riley got his look from.

What do you think of Ward? Was he a cool dad? Did you want him to be your dad? Let us know.
