One of my favourite things about living in Halifax, is all of the amazing local microbreweries. I bounce around between Garrison, Propeller and Bridge Brewing Company depending on my mood.

I saw on Twitter yesterday that Garrison is holding a Sausage Fest with all the cajin fixings and wanted to help spread the word.

Head down to Garrison on August 14th from 7-9 pm and celebrate Sausage Fest with more than just dudes!

They are offering a feast including 100% local gumbo and cornbread from 2 Doors Down made with sausage, bacon & chicken from Getaway Farms’ Butcher Shop.

You will also be able to stomp your feet to South West Louisiana Cajun music from Tappage Gumbo.

Oh don’t worry, there will be Garrison brew flowing all night long.

Sounds like a great event to me. I wonder if I can bring the baby??

Tickets cost $33.00 (all included) and you can pick them up at the Garrison retail store.

For full details, check out their event posting on Facebook. You can also follow the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #SausageFestHFX

So who is going?

Great food and beer are alive and well in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
