Wow, summer sure went by fast. I know technically there is still a few weeks left, but for kids, it is back to school. That means less time to play, less time to roam free and less time to enjoy NetFlix.
The one show our toy boys are hooked on these days is DinoTrux. It combines two of their favourite things. Transformers and Dinosaurs. The adult in me thinks, are there not already actual Dinosaurs who are Transformers? Anyways, that is another topic.
Getting back to going back to school. One area that signifies the shift back to the classroom is new clothes and a change to shake up your kid’s style.
For our oldest who is going into Grade 1, he has had a Toronto Blue Jays hat on his head since before he could talk. Sadly, a few weeks ago, while on a fun adventure with him mom, he lost his precious hat. It was his go-to identity when he left the house and especially when he went to school. What was he going to do? We of course planned on getting a new hat but when things happen mid-week in a family, it’s not like you can move on a dime and do stuff like that.
Then the best thing happened. A package arrived in the mail from the NetFlix Stream Team folks and things changed for the better quickly.
The package was full of stuff for the show DinoTrux and one item in particular was a huge hit. It was a trucker hat with the DinoTrux logo on it and it was on our sons head right away and I think he even wore it to bed that night.
Since, it has become his new crown. His new confidence item that he never leaves home without. The Blue Jays are still special to him, but for now, he wants everyone to know that he supports team DinoTrux.
As for our youngest son, he is enjoying the cartoon on the iPad. I think they like it better on the iPad as it rolls over to the next cartoon without mom or dad knowing. They try to sneak in some extra time when we are busy doing other things.
Thanks to those transforming Dinosaurs, our boys are ready for back to school. Yes, they will actually get to watch less of the cartoon, but thanks to that hat, I can see our oldest son strutting into his first day of class ready to take on the world.
DinoTrux has more than meets the tire, er, eye – these prehistoric hybrid dinosaur-construction vehicles team-up to work together using their different skills to solve problems. Even the most uncommon of pairs, like Ty-Rux and Revvit, form friendships of a lifetime. The show premieres Aug. 14, only on Netflix.
