Talking Chicken Myths and Other Crazy Food Lies

A few weeks ago I got the chance to go and see where the chicken comes from that we eat at home and at the local KFC. Yes, that’s right, the chicken KFC serves, is real, farm-raised chicken and it always has been.

The reason for their latest “C is For Chicken” campaign was to stomp the crazy myth that their chicken was not really. Just do a quick Google search for KFC or any other chicken for that matter and there are so many untrue stories out there.

  • Mutant chickens.
  • They stopped calling themselves Kentucky Fried Chicken because they were not using chicken.
  • The chickens used were unhealthy and did not even have beaks.
  • I won’t even go into the really crazy conspiracy myths out there.

Now I never believed any of those myths. My only thinking on KFC growing up was that it was not that healthy for you. That’s not KFC’s fault. That’s what fried chicken in. You don’t eat it every day.

Video: Kid Delivers Special Message As He Rounds The Bases

As if we needed more good feelings from baseball. Josh Donaldson made smiles from coast to coast yesterday and then I saw this video floating around the Internet.

This tiny baseball player got a hit and scurried all the way to first base where his coach (and dad) encouraged him to continue to second.

He did, but not before delivering a hug and the sweetest message: “Hey. I have to tell you something. I like you. I love you.”

That dad must have been dropping a mic in his head because life does not get much better than that.

Jimmy Kimmel Asks Kids Who They Prefer, Mums or Dads

Gotta love Jimmy Kimmel. He decided to get festive on Mother’s Day and take to the streets for his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, to ask kids which one of their parents they preferred.

The bit was created for Mother’s Day, so I was not surprised that Dad got thrown under the bus a lot. I hope he does the same thing for Father’s Day.

Here is the funny video.

I wonder what our boys would say if they were asked that question? Hmmmm maybe we shall see.

Video: Texas Rising Trailer

I have never been a big watching of The History Channel but thanks to watching Vikings, I have gotten into a few of their series. Last week, the network gave a first look at their next big series and I was instantly hooked.

It’s called Texas Rising and stars Bill Paxton, Brendan Fraser, Ray Liotta, Trevor Donovan, Olivier Martinez and Christopher McDonald.

Without going on, here is the trailer that aired during Vikings.
