As the candy bags start to dwindle in size, I am finally getting around to my Halloween post for October. Yes I have been a bad #streamteam member but for this blog entry it actually works in my favour to be running behind. Now that it is a week after Halloween, I have seen all the best costumes and enjoyed all the effort some mega Netflix watchers went to.
Every time I checked Facebook or Instagram, there was a new frontrunner for costume that rocked and cleary came from the mind of a Netflix binge artist.
As my kids did not use Netflix as their inspiration this year I had to go to the Internet. In case you are wondering, they were a Gorilla and Kevin Pillar of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Looking for a new series to get your binge on with? Why not go royal with the latest Netflix original to hit the small screen. The Crown.
My wife and I recently got to attend an exclusive screening of the first two episodes and I have to say, it pulled me in. I can’t wait to watch the other 8 episodes. I also read there are 6 seasons planned. That’s a lot of Queen.
For those who don’t know, The Crown, details the life of Queen Elizabeth starting just before she becomes the Queen. The budget is big, the cast is amazing and it’s a show I can see doing very well with viewers and awards.
It was also cool to hear a few of the characters answer questions at the event in Toronto.
I don’t know about you but I don’t have time to keep up with what is coming and going on Netflix. Luckily, being part of the #StreamTeam helps. Each month they send out this handy list of all the new shows and movies and when they start. There is also a short list of the shows and movies that are being removed.
Just looking over this list, my boys will be happy with new episodes of Teen Titans Go and Dino Trux. For me, well, you can’t go wrong with a Kill Bill marathon. What are you excited to see in October?
As October starts to creep into the picture, it’s hard to believe that school has been going full force for almost a month. For our boys, the days are long, but they are fun and busy. How do they unwind after a day of learning, playing and being busy – they come home, turn on the Netflix and zone out with a snack.
From roughly 5:45pm to 6:30pm most weekdays, our two are in front of the TV enjoying one of their fave shows and having a small snack before dinner. Their brains are mush, so it’s good to keep it light. Their tummies are grumbly, so it’s all about priming them for a good dinner.
This time is also great for mom and dad to actually talk about the day without being interrupted. All is great for 45 minutes. It is a peaceful time for everyone to change into comfy clothes and silently enjoy each other’s company.
